Donald Trump arrived at Windsor Castle on Wednesday around midday, received by the royal family for his second State visit to the United Kingdom.
The American president and his wife Melania were greeted as they stepped off the helicopter by Crown Prince William and his wife Catherine, and then by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, under a grey sky.
Windsor’s main street was decorated with British and American flags for the occasion. A large police presence was deployed in this town located about forty kilometers west of London.

Framed by an exceptional security operation, this two-day State visit began with a military ceremony of unprecedented scale, involving 1,300 members of the British armed forces.
After a royal salute fired from the castle and the Tower of London, the three couples took part in a carriage procession.
“This is going to be a very big day,” Trump had said upon arriving in the UK. “A lot of things here warm my heart. (…) This is a very special place,” he also said.
He has repeatedly expressed pride in being the only American president to be honored with a State visit to the United Kingdom twice. The first took place in 2019.
